The world’s largest documentary festival – idfa – pushes boundaries, encourages new ideas and amplifies new voices. With this in mind, a new visual identity is made that creates an environment that provokes curiosity in multiple ways.

idfa also believes in the uniting potential of documentary film. The documentaries screened at idfa provide insight in different lifestyles and discourses that many may not be so familiar with. They create a certain level of understanding of a topic, but always leave room for new questions. idfa doesn’t want provide answers to the questions the audience has. They want to give their viewers the possibility and the reason to provide them.

That’s why this year’s campaign is an ode to asking questions rather than finding answers. Questions about the documentaries idfa shows, questions about you viewing those documentaries, but most of all, questions that provoke curiosity. A transparent font and blocked film images make everyone question even more.
