Since 2013, KesselsKramer helps the Kinderboekenweek promote itself. This year, after 5 years of different themes and different visual styles, CPNB (the Dutch organisation that promotes reading and organises the Kinderboekenweek) asked for something more – something more of the same, to be exact. As of 2018 the CPNB wants all their events to become part of a visual family. All events they organise must have a recognisable house style and, ideally, all these new house styles also share several elements, to make very clear that they belong together.
The CPNB family starts with the Kinderboekenweek of 2018, which is themed ‘friendship’. Using this theme as a starting point, we designed a house style for the Kinderboekenweek that is playful enough to fit every theme they could possibly think of, but also consistent enough to make the Kinderboekenweek recognisable.
From now on, thanks to a new standard logo-lockup, colour palette, graphical pattern set and an official Kinderboekenweek-illustrator (Sue Doeksen), everyone can recognise the Kinderboekenweek from miles away.
