Brilliant bicycles

Problem

The Dutch are mad about bikes, we are a bike riding nation. Our bikes get us from A to Z and back again, they are our trusty steeds. At KesselsKramer we’re no different, so when NEMO Science Museum asked us to think of a campaign to promote their new summer show, Brilliant Bicycles, we asked ourselves this: If you could build your own bike what would it look like?

Solution

And when we put this simple question to artist-cum-inventor Oscar Peters he delivered some truly brilliant bikes. Playful for children and realistically cool for adults. It was key that the bikes feel home-made enough that everyone could look at them and understand how they were constructed.

Creative

These new franken-bikes became the core of the campaign, in posters, online films and the exhibition itself. Designed specifically to inspire both children and adults to think outside the box when it comes to approaching mechanics, science and technique and the relation between these topics.
