Souvenir Project

A souvenir is a small hommage to ‘something’ that you can’t find anywhere else in the world. So why is it that souvenirs often look so similar, no matter where you go? You know what we mean; the fridge magnets, key chains, shot glasses and ‘funny’ t-shirts.

The ten Dutch UNESCO world heritage sites deserve better and so Erik Kessels teamed up with students from different design schools in the Netherlands and challenged them to come up with something better.

These refreshing and often funny memory objects are displayed in a small souvenir house. It’s a tiny museum that will travel across all the heritage site in the Netherlands.
